HUD Recipient Drug Testing
If you receive any form of gov't aide, you should have to be tested for drugs. I have to submit to drug test to earn the $. People that receive the $ should have to submit to a drug test. I'm not against having to take the test, so recipients shouldn't be offended by having to do the same.

If you don't have anything to hide there is no reason to feel its a slap in the face, minorities are not the only ones in CHA housing or CHA programs, if you can afford drugs then you can pay your own bills. I am 63 years old, white, I waited 10 years for my section 8 voucher. I see young people with kids, sitting home all day collecting money where ever they can while I am still working. I walk past the fancy cars parked out in front and I say to myself what did I do wrong in life. So stop whining if you get something for nothing you should submit to any test required to continue to do so.

I am in public housing due to a disability. I do not use drugs, I do not drink. I am a very respected person in my community. I have no idea what to heck is going on. I am feeling more and more as if I am in a minimum security prison than home. Because I am on disability and can no longer afford the average rent , my medical expenses, food, etc. I am now being dictated to. When I was working I also helped pay for the benefits I now receive. I have been ordered not to smoke in my apartment or within 20' of the building. So with destroyed spine and all I have to go down 4 floors and outside in any weather and stand in the open to smoke, (the only vice I have). They are not obliged to provide a shelter for us. Now they are trying to make me pee in a cup whenever they feel like it to PROVE I am not taking drugs. Of course I am taking drugs. If I do not take my pain meds I can not walk you idiots. How in the world are you going to solve that little problem? I am disabled I am not in PRISON. Stop treating me as if I am a statistical speck on some stupid chart. I USED to be a person. Food for thought people. Since the Government bailed out the banks and financial institutions with MY tax dollars also, I vote that ANYONE with a mortgage or any type of loan must abide by all rules and regulations public housing tenants have to follow. After all since YOU are paying for it after all!!!!!
This is actually an excellent idea. Many people I who I personally know who are in gov't assisted housing are on drugs. The lifestyle surrounding many of these communities/projects is drug oriented, which makes finding/wanting a job almost impossible. Programs to end drug use will not work... they rarely do. The fact of the matter is: if you knew you were going to lose your apartment because you tested positive for drugs you would stop. This is a simple solution for a big problem. You are killing two birds with one stone with this idea. Good thinking!
This is possibly the stupidest idea on this forum. If you had any sense, you would be asking about programs to END drug use, not test for it. People should also be tested for stupidity...
