Time to change the archaic and self-defeating characteristics of FedTraveler
In the recent mandatory Security Awareness training the emphasis was ensuring that regularly used programs are user friendly. The FedTraveler program is definitely not user friendly. it ends up being time consuming and frustrating to even complete a simple task. Anyone up for creating a more friendly version for HUD to use?
Do away with FedTraveler. We are now being charged $34.17 to process an authorization, and that is without using the reservation system!
This is not only offensive as an employee, but as a taxpayer.
This antiquated software is not at all user-friendly, requires HUD to dedicate staff specifically to fix problems with it, is incredibly slow, doesn't always provide the cheapest travel options, likely costs a fortune to maintain, and is a HUGE time-sucker for those who travel regulalrly. We already have a well-scrutinized travel budget and, managers should be able to determine whether an employee's travel costs are appropriate.
I agree, and personally loathe FedTraveler. I think I heard mumblings of some changes sometime soon. Let me look more into this and get back to you. :)

Let's just not use it. Our travel budgets are already scrutinized without it and it is easier to have our employees book their own travel. FedTraveler is a huge waste of money and time.
I heard that we were going with another system soon.
